Trampoline cover: 7 covers and protections compared

To choose a trampoline cover, you take the outside diameter of the frame (8ft, 10ft, 12ft or 14ft, so 244, 305, 366 or 430 cm) and tell apart a weather cover, a spring pad and a sun canopy. The 7 parts compared cover all three uses.

By Nicolas Pradier · Updated 18 October 2026

En bref
  • Diameter: that of the frame, from 244 to 460 cm depending on the cover; the most common is 10ft (305 cm).
  • Three parts not to confuse: weather cover when not in use, spring pad while in use, canopy against the sun.
  • Materials stated: Oxford fabric, polypropylene or 0.2 mm polyethylene, with elastic, carabiner or drawcords.
  • Measure the height too if the cover must go over an assembled net: a 147 cm cover is too short for a 190 cm net.
  • A cover limits dirt on the trampoline; it does not replace the storage advice in the instructions.

Choosing the size and the material

  • Size: measure the outside diameter of the frame, not that of the jumping mat. Covers come in 244, 250, 300, 305, 360, 366, 400, 430 and 460 cm.
  • Material: polypropylene (Kangui, Arebos), Oxford fabric (synoratory) or 0.2 mm polyethylene (AWM).
  • Fixing: elastic, carabiner with elastic or drawcords, to suit the frame.
  • Cut: the synoratory cover is fitted to the outline of the frame, while multi-size covers are held taut by elastic.

Fixing: what holds the cover on in the wind

A cover that is badly held catches the wind like a sail and can damage the net or the poles. Checking the fixing after every gust of wind is a simple precaution.

Measuring before you order

  1. Measure the outside diameter of the frame, from one edge to the other through the centre.
  2. Measure the total height from the ground to the top of the net or the poles if the cover must go over the whole thing.
  3. Count the poles before choosing a canopy: the one in the selection is for 6 poles.
  4. Compare these values with the real dimensions on the listing, not the diameter in the title alone.

An example of the trap: the cover on the Vehiwell listing measures 147 cm high, 43 cm less than the 190 cm stated for the HOMCOM 140 cm with net.

Out of season

  • Dry the trampoline before covering it, so as not to trap damp.
  • Follow the instructions on the net: they say whether it stays in place or is stored under cover, see the trampoline net.
  • Check the mat and springs in spring, see springs and mat.
  • Cover in dry weather and check now and then that water is not pooling on the cover.
  • In spring, shake out the cover, let it dry and store it under cover before reopening the trampoline.

Frequently asked questions

What size cover for a 10ft (305 cm) trampoline?

A cover stated for 305 cm, like the synoratory, or a multi-size cover like those from Kangui (300 cm) and AWM (305 cm).

Is a cover enough for the winter?

The synoratory listing mentions snow; those of the other covers talk about rain, dust and UV. None promises protection against frost: follow the trampoline's instructions for storage.

What is the difference between a cover and a spring pad?

The cover goes over a trampoline that is not being used. The spring pad covers the springs and the frame and stays in place while it is in use.

Do I need to take the net down before putting the cover on?

The trampoline's instructions say. A net stored dry lasts longer; see the trampoline net page.

Which cover for a 12ft (366 cm) trampoline?

The Kangui cover is stated in 360 cm and the AWM in 366 cm. Measure the outside diameter of the frame before ordering.

What is the difference between a cover and a canopy?

The cover goes over the trampoline between uses. The canopy is stretched above the jumping area to give shade; the one in the selection is for models with 6 poles and 305 cm.

How does a cover stay on in the wind?

By its fixing: carabiner with elastic on the AWM, elastic straps on the Arebos, ropes for the canopy, fitted cut for the synoratory cover.

What colour of cover should I choose?

AWM offers black, blue and green. No listing links colour to a level of protection.

How do I measure to choose a cover?

Outside diameter of the frame, then total height if the cover goes over the assembled net. The listing gives the real dimensions to compare.
